WEEKLY WORD – HOLD ON (8/17/21)

I was thinking today… about stress. Just look at our world, things are finally opening back up just to get hit with the Delta variant, masks, vaccinated/unvaccinated division, kids going back to school etc., and that’s not even including our other personal struggles.

There are people living in fear daily. What do we do with all of the stress? Well, for starters, close your eyes, breathe and lean on God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Allow God to lift you up when you are crushed by the weight of it all and have fallen to the ground. I urge all of us to just hold on to God, cling to Him, cry, scream, yell… it’s okay to do that! He understands. He knows you and your struggles.

I think at times we feel we are alone in our hardships. But you are not alone, because there are others who struggle, as well, with similar or different circumstances. We all have challenging times. God is with you – always – do not forget that. No matter how bad it gets. You are here for a purpose, you are special, loved and known by Him. Reach out and take His hand that He is always extending to you and HOLD ON!

(Proverbs 3:5-6) Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

(Isaiah 41:13) “For I am the Lord our God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”

(Deuteronomy 31:8) “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

(Psalm 34:17-18) The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

To God be the Glory,
