I was thinking the other day about where God places us as we go through the different seasons of our lives. Then, the word “separation” came to mind.
We can be separated FROM a lot of different things. Like separation from family members, friends, and our homes. And we can be separated BY a lot of different things as well, such as distance and time. We can even be separated by differing ideologies and beliefs.
Lately, in this season of my life, I have to admit that I have been feeling a lot of “separation.” Sometimes it’s more than I can comprehend. Questions pop up. Why is this separation happening to me? Why do I feel this way? Why now? And what is it that I’m separated from?
I try to rationalize, but because of my walk with God, and the relationship that I have with Him, I take my questions to Him. For instance; what does God want me to do with this time that I have so much of right now? And, more importantly, will I be able to say “yes” to what He is asking me to do?
I want to be obedient and I want to honor God because I love Him. But hearing from God is not always as easy as we may think. Building a relationship with Him, the kind of relationship where we can actually interact with Him, takes commitment, determination, desire, and of course time.
Here’s the good news! We CANNOT BE SEPARATED from God. Once you place your faith in Jesus Christ, you are His! He is always calling, seeking, looking for us.
We have to, I have to, make the effort to answer, to find God when He is pursuing me. We all have to do this. Our relationship with God does not have to “feel like” a separation. Instead, it could just be the intentional drawing closer to Him.
“I delight to do Your will, my God; Your instruction lives within me” (Psalms 40:8).
“But from there, you will search for the Lord your God, and you will find Him when you seek Him with all your heart and all your soul” (Deuteronomy 4:29).
God bless you,
