WEEKLY WORD – SEASONS (5/18/21)

I was thinking today… about the different seasons of life. Young, old, single, married, kids, etc. I’ve always been one to reflect on my life, my goals, and what I want to achieve at any particular time of life that I’m in. I think we can always serve God, but I also think there are different ways in which we can serve Him depending on our season of life.

For example – if we have young children then one way we are serving God is by taking care of our children and raising them to know God.  Then, as our children get older, we may have more time to serve God outside of our family.

I think it is good to stop and reflect on our season of life. Take time to ask God what He wants you to do with where you are in your life right now. I also think it is important to not compare what you do with what others do. We all have different life situations, so we all serve differently.

Take the time to check in with yourself and with God. As our life changes, so we too change, and how and what we do to serve God may change. Be open to it, really reflect on it and pray about it. Just remember there is always a way to serve God in every season of your life.

(Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8) There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,

a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,

a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

a time to search and a time to give up,

a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear and a time to mend,

a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,

a time for war and a time for peace.

To God be the Glory,
