WEEKLY WORD – FEW PEOPLE, BIG IMPACT (7/20/21)

I was thinking today… about numbers. It seems we always think that “more” is better. More people, more material possessions, more money and the list could go on. I do believe, however, that sometimes less can be more.

For example, we can have a ton of people working on a project, but if they aren’t each doing their part and are all being complacent, then chances are it will not get done or be successful. On the other hand if we have a few people who work hard, are dedicated, focused and pro-active, then a whole lot can be accomplished. It’s about quality not quantity.

Look at the bible. Jesus had a lot of followers and yet he picked 12 to be his apostles and those He sent out 2 by 2 to bring the Gospel to the world! Think about it – 12 people – not much by the standards of our society today and yet look at all they accomplished! Think about Paul, one person, and all that he did to glorify God.

My point is, that of course we always want to reach out to as many people as possible and tell them the Good News. We want everyone to be fully dedicated and working to glorify God, but not be discouraged. Because remember; it only takes a few faithful, focused, dedicated and hard working people to make a huge impact in the world for the glory of God.

(1 Corinthians 3:9) For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.

(Matthew 10:1) Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.

(Matthew 18:20) “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

(Mark 6:7) Calling the Twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits.

To God be the Glory,
